3 months:
*staring at the ceiling fan and lights
*staring at the bird paintings in the family room
*watching the sun come in the windows
*getting all swaddled up in a warm blanket
*hearing his big brother Jack talk to him
4 months:
*"talking" back and forth
*laughing
*grabbing at objects around him
*playing in exersaucer
*tummy time
*looking in the mirror
*hanging out in the sling and ergo pack
*staring contests with big brother
6 months:
*eating solids (butternut squash, sweet potatoes, apricots, peaches, zucchini, and a taste of yellow squash and bananas)
*loves to roll, grab his feet, suck on his toes
*two bottom teeth poking through
7 months:
* loves to eat (just added beans, swiss chard, blueberries, mangoes, and oatmeal)
* still working on crawling (can get around floor, pushing with his toes and pulling with arms)
* two teeth and more on the way (teething like crazy)
* sleeping through the night (after 5 days of "training")
* loves to make music with his drum and gator xylophone
* loves to explore sand, dirt, and grass (both with fingers and mouth)
9 months:
* clicks his tongue
* can sit and spin 360 degrees in tub using just his legs
* nods yes when you ask him if he is ready to eat or have a bath
* eating more finger foods (potato, sweet potato, green beans, pear, apple, cereal puffs, carrots, apricots, fruit leathers)
* drains the tub
12 months:
* taking more steps (up to 10 between people and furniture)
(first official walking a few weeks before 1st birthday)
* babbles about everything while pointing (sometimes sounds like he is saying "this?")
* says "vrr"or "brr" when asked what a car says, makes a "grr" sound when asked what a dinosaur says, and sometimes makes a "m" sound when asked what a cow says.
* baby signs for more, please, quiet, bathtime, bye-bye, all done, and "so big"
* loves playing with his radio flyer rocket (pushes it all over the house and gets frustrated when it gets stuck)
* comprehends what people are saying
* can climb up stairs and still working on going "down, down"
* can find and point to noses, eyes, mouths, and ears
1.5 years
Favorite books: Goodnight Moon, I Love You Through and Through, Baby Signs Bedtime, Chugga Chugga Choo Choo, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus
Favorite foods: pancakes, pears, green beans, chips and hummus
Favorite word: uh, uh (his answer for everything you ask him), watch dis, bup (up), peas (please), what dis,
2.5 years
Favorite books: Tuck Me In, Dinosaur Roar, We're Going on a Bear Hunt
Favorite foods: anything he can dip
Favorite words: (he's talking all the time so it's hard to keep up)
star war, pease, dank you, boogers, baftime, futball, sok, shoos, banket, mbilk (milk), fuud (food), jack, gak, jackie (all referring to his brother), whait, whait, whait (my favorite phrase he says), cucking (cooking), show, mobie (movie)
Favorite phrases: I can't, no you do it, no i do it
4.5 years
Favorite books: Jamberry, Duck Soup, John Deer tractor book
Favorite foods: guacamole, potatoes, rice and kim, tofu, green beans
Favorite words/phrases: actually, check it out, watch the master!, my legs are too tired, i'm too full, it's not fair
Favorite things to do: watch shows, play with friends (Madeline, Braeden, Maddy Girl), build with legos, swim, play soccer, dribble the basketball all over the house, draw pictures, and play with pokemon cards.
