Jack has a love for words. He loves learning new words and their definitions. Yesterday, Kris taught him the word alliteration. Jack totally got the concept and had fun coming up with some of his own. He also created a sentence using alliteration and rhyme ("Porky Pig went to a jig").
We have some magnetic letters on our garage door that he likes to play with too. Kris was watching Jack and saw the letters BNT together. He asked what that meant. Jack said, "You know, Dad! Be Nut. Like Be nut afraid." BNT = Be Not. Hilarious and pretty dang close if you ask me! He must have been paying attention at church yesterday when someone said, "Be not afraid".
This morning Jack was playing around with words again and spelled JAM all by himself. He is doing really well using his phonics knowledge to spell and sound out words. Its amazing to me! Even with my background in teaching and my two years teaching first grade, it still amazes me to see kids put it all together and learn to read!

Jessica,
Just spent a little bit back reading on your blog. Your boys are getting big. I can't believe that Jack is learning all that he is. Crazy! Can you come teach my kids???
Way to go Jack! I know you say you've got a lot to learn...you seem well on your way!!
