We have had two turtle sightings so far this summer. The large snapping turtles have been making their trek from the lake to another pond behind our house. They climb a huge hill, cross over an island and two roads, and finally creep down our lawn and disappear into the tall grasses. I was amazed at how fast they really do crawl. It was so neat to see them up close. They look so prehistoric. Jack tried to feed them grass and we had to warn him if he got too close he would lose a finger. So, if you had any plans on swimming in the lake, you might want to think again!
