We made our annual trek to Hershey in September this year. The weather was perfect and the crowds weren't that bad. Jack loves Hershey and couldn't wait to go on all the rides. He was braver this year and tried new rides that he wouldn't have looked at last year. His most favorite was the Scrambler. He went on it twice. Kris and I don't love the ones that go around and around, but Jack couldn't get enough. Funny, he wasn't a big fan of the Frog Hopper. He was really excited to go on the swings this year, but once he got on it he wasn't that excited or impressed. We tried to get him to go on one of the milder roller coasters, but he thought maybe not this year.
Henry was in heaven. He loved the merry go round, the little train ride, the ladybug, and the lazy river ride. He also got a big kick out of feeding the ducks from the bridge high above them. He was a great sport and was happy for most of our time there. He was not a big fan of the big Hershey Kiss giving out hugs and hand shakes. He literally freaked out when we got close to him. Jack, however, was happy to get a picture with him.
We ended our visit with a trip to the gift shop. The boys get to pick out a Hershey shirt and some chocolate. Kris and I found an amazing cold chocolate drink that really hit the spot. By this point, Henry was passed out on my back.
As a special treat, we decided to stay in a hotel overnight in Harrisburg and drive home the next day. Jack was so excited. We had a great room. Henry found the phone to be very entertaining and Jack loved that he had a great big bed (even though he bunked with me later that night). After the boys explored every inch of hotel room and made the trip to the ice machine, we enjoyed a yummy Mexican dinner at a local restaurant. In the morning, the boys and I took a swim in the pool and then we all enjoyed a good breakfast. It was well worth it. The trip back was so pleasant and was the end to a perfect Hershey Park trip.
