An almost white Christmas 2010

Christmas officially starts on December 1st at our house or as soon as we put up the tree. The boys had a great time this year putting the ornaments on the tree. Jack would get excited about ornaments he recognized from last year or ones that he had made. He thought it was pretty cool that we had some from when I was his age too.


On December 1st, the boys also get new Christmas pj's and this year new slippers.


During the month, there are lots of fun things happening around the house. We make gingerbread cookies, which is Jack's most favorite to make, and we play. Lots and lots of playing around the house. We did get a little snow which the boys loved. As soon as they possibly can, they get all dressed up to go outside. The boys love to fill cups with snow and pour juice or maple syrup on it. They love it and its fun to pass down this winter tradition that my mom use to do with me and my siblings.

Jack had a cute little holiday sing a long at school this year. The music teacher really taught them some great songs and Jack learned them all very well. My favorite song was the one about a snowman. Jack also had a fun holiday party where they decorated gingerbread men ornaments, made reindeer food, and made yummy reindeer brownies.



It was such a nice, quiet Christmas at home this year. No traveling and no illness. Kris's sister, Keyyong and her dog, Biscuit came to stay for the week since she was off from school. The boys were very excited about Santa coming and we even heard we might get some snow. Honestly, I can't remember all the happenings (since I've procrastinated doing this post for so long). We set out cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer and Jack threw his reindeer food on the front yard too.

Christmas morning was so pleasant. The boys came down early as usual and were super excited about all the fun gifts under the tree. Henry was thrilled to see his new kitchen set and Jack had mixed feelings about his new bike. He liked it, but then said, "I can't even ride it with my cast on!". He got over that feeling pretty quickly and did laps around the house during the rest of the day. The boys also got a great new train set which we had fun putting together. Komo Keyyong gave them pillow pets, which they both fell in love with. We had a yummy breakfast of cinnamon rolls and spent the day in our pj's playing with each other.




As a special addition to our Christmas, the Mickie family came caroling to our house. They brought this adorable beach themed gingerbread house. It really made the day feel like Christmas!
