Happy Birthday Henry!

Our little Hank is 2! Where has the time gone? He is full of energy and constantly on the go. He loves to dance, sing, run around chasing his brother, play with toys, and eat food. He likes to watch shows like Dino Dan, Olivia, Little Bear, Curious George, Dinosaur Train, and Chuggington. He loves to be outside, helping in the kitchen cooking and washing dishes, wearing hats, and snuggling with blankets. His favorite books right now are books about dinosaurs and trains.

We had a nice little breakfast celebration with monkey pancakes. Kris went to work and the boys and I had a nice day playing with play-doh, puzzles, and new toys. We played in the snow and helped our neighbor shovel her driveway. It was fun to have a great snow day to add to Henry's special day. That night we had one of his favorite meals - homemade fish sticks, french fries, and green beans. We had a mini celebration with heart shaped cakes. Henry really liked having us sing "Happy Birthday" to him.




The day before, a dear friend was taking Henry for the day while I was headed to an event with Kris. I had not changed him out of pj's when I brought him over and didn't realize he had a rash all over his body. He had had a rash on his belly area the night before, but I had thought it looked like a food reaction rash. Long story short, after a trip to his pediatrician, we were almost certain he had chicken pox. Not super surprising since he hasn't had that vaccine yet. So Henry spent part of his birthday in oatmeal baths. He wasn't really acting sick, no itching or fever. But we treated it like chicken pox just to be safe until we got a call from the pediatrician who said that she didn't think it was chicken pox anymore because he wasn't showing any of the signs (no itching, fever, the spots hadn't opened and scaped over). So not chicken pox, but not sure what it is. The doctor thought it was probably just some reaction to a new soap or something he came in contact with that irritated his skin. Good news for Henry. He did love those oatmeal baths though and his skin is super soft.



The day after Henry's birthday, my brother Jacob and sister Laura arrived. They drove across the country from Idaho. Laura is moving to this area, which I am super excited about. Jacob was able to come visit for a day before heading up to visit Dave and then head back to Idaho for a few weeks before heading to his mission. It was great to see him even if for a short time. We had a great day together eating at our favorite Moby Dicks and then had a yummy Korean feast to celebrate Jake's mission and Henry's birthday. Henry loved having another day to celebrate him turning 2. He got a great race car blanket from Grammy that he just loves and has to have with him all the time. He has also enjoyed his new puzzles.




Henry, we love you and are so happy you are a part of our family. Can't wait for the adventures we'll go through together this year! You learn so quickly and are such a sweet spirited boy. Thanks for being you!
